Mexican-American War 1846-1848

This was the scholarship quilt for the Veterans Caucus.  I picked the 'Lone Star' or 'Texas Star' pattern for obvious reasons.  One of the results of this conflict was that Texas became a state in 1848.  It also gave the United States nearly one million square miles that included land in what is now California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

I love the way it came out.  Most of the corners and points were matched!  Yeah!!  The more I do this pattern the more comfortable I get with matching all those diamonds.
