I have done my research and found a pattern that I like. The two small pictures are of actual quilts from the era. With the block decided, I found a set of directions with sizes and dimensions that are what I want to use. 'Stars over Fort Sumner' by Bonnie Blue Quilts will be slightly different from the one shown here.
Multi varieties of material by the yard, quarter yard, fat quarter, and fat eighth. Lots and Lots. More than enough for more than two quilts......
2" strips cut......
2" squares cut for the corner triangles.
Just the start of a lot of piecing.....
Chain piecing makes the job go faster.
Sewn, cut apart and ready to be trimmed.
Now what to do with a basket full of small triangles???
Adding the triangles one by one.
Butternut for the South.
Blues for the North.
Fishished sections. 45 done of the Butternut. Just a few more steps and the finished block.......
Now....how many more of these do I need??
