Explanation: Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a form of depression that occurs in relation to the seasons, most commonly beginning in winter.
*Afternoon slumps with decreased energy and concentration.
*Carbohydrate cravings.
*Decreased interest in work or other activities.
*Depression that starts in fall or winter.
*Increased appetite with weight gain.(DUH!! carbs and decrease energy!!)
*Increased sleep and excessive daytime sleepiness.
*Lack of energy.
*Slow, sluggish, lethargic movement.(Duh.....it's COLD!).jpg)
*Social withdrawal. (Do you think it has anything to do with weight gain, lack of energy, sleepiness and being a slug!!)

As with other types of depression, antidepressant medications and talk therapy can be effective. Light therapy using a special lamp to mimic light from the sun may also be helpful. (Moving south!!)
End of medical education...... Now back to January. Have to say that it is just not one of my favorite months....Not like April(spring flowers), June(summer flowers, sun, heat), October(turning leaves)....even December(vacation near the ocean!) has its good points. But January.........nothing.
ps-I hate it when you want pictures in a certian place and when you move them there...they jump to somewhere else! Causes me to edit... post... edit... post... etc..... OCD? (For another day! : )
